Merode station, on metro lines 1 and 5, is in Etterbeek, and Schuman is a stop away. Many addresses in the north of the commune are within walking distance of the institutions.
The commune stretches south and east, so the further you go from Merode and Schuman the more you rely on the metro or tram.
What it is like to live here
Place Jourdan and Chaussée de Wavre are the main places for food and shopping, and the Parc du Cinquantenaire is minutes from the north of the commune.
The VUB campus is in Etterbeek, so there is a student presence, mostly towards the south. Rents here range widely depending on whether a home is a room in a shared flat or a whole apartment.
