The European Quarter is the part of Brussels around Schuman and Place du Luxembourg, where the European Commission, the Council of the EU and the European Parliament sit. It is not a commune of its own: it straddles the City of Brussels, Etterbeek and Ixelles, so a postcode or commune filter will miss some of it.

Getting around
Metro lines 1 and 5 call at Merode, Schuman, Maelbeek and Arts-Loi in turn. Brussels-Luxembourg station is next to the Parliament.
Your workplace matters more than the neighbourhood name. The Parliament and the Commission are not at the same end of the quarter, so check the walk from the front door to your own building before you commit.
What it is like to live here
The quarter is built around offices, so some streets are busy on weekdays and noticeably quiet in the evening and at weekends. Place du Luxembourg is the main after-work spot, and Parc Léopold and the Cinquantenaire are the nearest large green spaces.
The trade-off for a short commute is that the area is less residential than Ixelles or Etterbeek. If evening noise or atmosphere matters to you, visit the street after work hours before deciding.
