Uccle is a green, residential commune in the south of Brussels, bordering the Sonian Forest. It is quiet, spacious and popular with families and with people who work in the international community.
It is the furthest of the areas on this site from the European Quarter, so it suits people who value space and greenery enough to commute for it. Homes here range from a room to a whole house.

Getting around
There is no metro in Uccle. Trams and buses connect it with Louise and the centre, and getting to Schuman usually involves a change, so test the journey at your usual commuting hour.
A car or a bike is more useful here than in the central communes, particularly in the outer parts of the commune.
What it is like to live here
Parc de Wolvendael, the Sonian Forest and the Royal Observatory grounds give Uccle its green, and the villages around Place Saint-Job and the Parvis Saint-Pierre have their own shops and cafés.
The European School of Brussels I is in Uccle, which is a reason many EU families choose the commune. The evening scene is far quieter than in the centre.
