Who we are

EU Quarter Homes is a listing platform for furnished rentals in Brussels. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data protection law.

What data we collect

Account & profile data: Your name, email address, and LinkedIn profile URL obtained via LinkedIn OAuth when you sign in. Landlords additionally provide a phone number and listing details such as address, photos, price, and description.

Arrival Kit answers: If you use our free Arrival Kit, the answers you give (your situation, your status, whether you are an EU, EEA or Swiss national or a non-EU national, your commune, your start date, and whether your housing is sorted) and the steps you tick off. You do not need an account, and you are never asked for your name or email address. See “The Arrival Kit” below.

How we use your data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and verify your identity via LinkedIn
  • To publish, display, and manage property listings on the platform
  • To build the personalised Arrival Kit checklist you ask for
  • To facilitate direct contact between landlords and prospective tenants
  • To send transactional emails such as account confirmations and inquiry notifications
  • To analyse site usage and improve the platform (via GA4, only with your consent)
  • To comply with applicable legal and tax obligations

The Arrival Kit

The Arrival Kit turns a few answers into a checklist with deadlines. We process your answers only to give you that checklist. We do not store them in our database and we do not link them to you: there is no account, and no name or email address is involved. Your answers exist in three places:

  • In the web address of your results page. This is what lets you reopen, print or share your checklist. The address contains your answers and nothing that identifies you, but anyone you send it to can see those answers.
  • In your browser, on your device. We use your browser's local storage to remember your last answers and the steps you have ticked, so the checklist is where you left it. This is not a tracking cookie, it is needed for the feature you are using, and we keep no copy.
  • In our hosting provider's technical logs. When you open a results page, Vercel receives the page address, which includes your answers, along with ordinary technical information such as your IP address. These logs are short-lived and used to run and secure the site.

If you have consented to analytics, Google Analytics also counts a few Arrival Kit actions: starting the questions, finishing them (with your situation and status, but not your commune or date), ticking a step (which step, not who you are), and using the print or PDF button. Like every page view, it records the page address, and on a results page that address contains your answers. If you have not consented, none of this is sent.

Links from your checklist to official websites open in a new tab and do not tell those sites which page you came from.

To erase what the Arrival Kit has saved on your device, use “Clear what's saved on this device” at the bottom of your results page, or clear your browser data. Because we hold no copy, that removes it. If you shared a link, we cannot recall it from the people who received it.

Cookies and Google Analytics

EU Quarter Homes uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve the experience. GA4 sets cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and referral sources. We configure GA4 with IP anonymization enabled and we do not send personally identifiable information in event parameters.

Analytics cookies are only loaded after you give explicit consent through our cookie banner. If you do not consent, no Google Analytics scripts or cookies will be placed on your device. You can change or revoke your consent at any time using the link in the footer. When you revoke consent, we clear existing GA cookies on the next page load.

Data sharing

We share your data only with the service providers strictly necessary to operate the platform, each of which is bound by a data processing agreement:

  • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure, hosted within the EU
  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery, with servers in EU regions
  • Google Ireland Limited — analytics (GA4), only if you have given consent
  • LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company — limited to the OAuth authentication flow at sign-in

Separately, if you enter one of our partner prize draws and are selected as a winner, we pass your name and email address to that partner so they can issue your prize. This happens only to winners, only for the draw you entered, and only for the purpose of getting the prize to you. Entrants who are not selected are never shared with anyone.

We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising purposes.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, and for up to two years after closure. Inquiry messages are retained for one year. Analytics data is subject to GA4's retention settings, currently set to 14 months. Arrival Kit answers and ticks stay on your own device until you clear them, and we keep no copy; hosting logs are short-lived. Prize draw entries are deleted six months after the draw closes, except for the records of who won, which we keep so that past winners can be excluded from later draws.

International transfers

Vercel and Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, ensuring an equivalent level of protection.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@euquarterhomes.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit).
